February 2012
Dear Friends,
In light of our institute's rebranding initiative—we find ourselves in a sea of transition, updating our visual identity, our internal and external communications, our programs and our social presence.
We have found two significant factors in the success of this endeavor, the first is the indispensable partnership of governance and management, board and staff.
With a full-time staff of 5 (including me), board members and management together determine the important issues and the agenda of the organization. Through openness, trust, shared vision and mission, we find that "What do you think about this?" is far more effective than "Now, hear this" for both governance and management. This is a grateful thank you to our dedicated board of governors.
The second is the generosity of volunteers. Currently, we have two dedicated volunteers joining our staff who have given their marketing and public relations expertise pro bono: Carolyn Baxter and Laura Carabello, along with her staff at CPR Communications.
As we enter February, may we all reach out to our "extended family" who dedicate their time, expertise and resources to further our missions, and help achieve our goals.
