More Hesselbein on Leadership

On Sale Now

"This is the Louvre of leadership--containing only that which is powerful, beautiful, and valuable. At a time when civility and empathy needs to temper passion, Hesselbein has delivered the essential manifesto for leaders everywhere."

December 2012

Dear Friends,

I have served on the board of Mutual of America Life Insurance Company since 1981. Since 1996, their Community Partnership Award has recognized a successful partnerships between the government, corporate and social sector, and the outstanding contributions those partnerships make to society. So far, 170 partnerships from cities and towns cross America have been recognized.

Community Partnership AwardIt is our responsibility at the Institute to help evaluate the applications of hundreds of organizations who apply. Ten organizations are chosen and one national award-winning partnership is featured in a documentary video. Operation Rebound is the 2012 National Award Winner, a program which uses sports as the next step in the rehabilitation process of nearly 1,400 injured service members. San Diego-based Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF) launched Operation Rebound in 2004 to provide adaptive equipment, sports prosthetics, training and mentoring expenses for active duty service members, veterans and first responders who have suffered permanent physical injuries as a result of their service.

These services can only be offered through the partnerships CAF has formed with the Naval and Army Medial Centers and other military and medical centers and veterans’ hospitals throughout the country.

It is an honor to feature organizations who value collaboration and in 2013, may we all consider greater opportunities for meaningful partnerships and collaborations.

To Serve Is To Live,

Frances Hesselbein

P.S. I hope I will see you all tomorrow at our 60-minute online, free global gathering.
